For centuries, farmers made offerings of Hope for a Miracle - as Amalaya is translated in the indigenous language - for a abundant harvest. The grapes come from the Calchaquí Valleys from vineyards planted at 1,800 meters above sea level in the northwest of Argentina. The region stands out for being one of the highest in the world and is characterized also due to its dry climate with rainfall no greater than 150 mm per year, with significant thermal amplitude; poor, rocky and sandy soils. Amalaya Malbec 2023 from Bodega Amalaya
It is a Malbec whose grapes were harvested at high altitudes, at Finca Las Mercedes, and which contains notable contributions of tannat and petit verdot. It has a bright ruby color with violet hues. It has aromas with a note of strawberries, raspberries and ripe fruits, with hints of pepper and spices. In the mouth, you can feel the flavor of red fruits, spices and a touch of vanilla, since it was aged in French oak barrels. With round and soft tannins, its finish is delicate and persistent. It is purple with reddish hues. On the nose, first, it has aromas with a superficial note of violet roses and, then, a fruity profile of cherry and strawberry, with hints of white pepper. In the mouth, it is soft at first and then becomes consistent and silky, with a persistent finish. Amalaya Malbec 2023 from Bodega Amalaya
